Multi Slide

The Multi Slide is a combination slide that may be added to any pack

It enables the creation of a single slide in a pack containing up to four charts, boxgrid or crosstab in different layout formations

When first added to any pack the layout will be set to show a single visual for the whole slide with no visual type selected

To set up a multi slide:

  1. Select the Slide Layout
  2. Select the Slide Type

Slide Layout

The slide panel allows selection of the slide layout to split the slide between 2, 3 or 4 visualizations in different formations

Choose from:

  • Vertical
    • 1 x 1
    • 1 x 2
    • 2 x 1
  • Horizontal
    • 1 x 1
    • 1 x 2
    • 2 x 1
  • Grid
    • 2 x 2

For each of the slide panel zone it is possible to select a

In this example the 2 x 1 vertical layout has been selected with the following settings applied to the 3 zones

Refining Slides

Each slide panel has a number of controls available in the top right corner which will allow you to refine the view of the data on the selected slide independently of other panels on multi slides

This allows side by side comparison between data in similar charts as shown in the image with both zone 1 and 2 displaying the same chart but

    1. Filtered by Gender: Female
    1. Filtered by Gender: Male

Show or hide filters and paging

When using a multi slide with paging and/or filters applied to zones the filter and paging controls reduce the amount of available space on canvas to display the individual visualizations

To restore this space it is possible to collapse the filter or paging pills by selecting the controls

The controls allow both paging and filter pills to be collapsed or expanded independently for each slide zone

Drag and Drop colors, filters or paging

Any filters, paging or colors applied to a zone on a multi slide may be dragged and dropped onto another zone to apply the same selection

This makes the process of applying the same refinement to more than one zone quick and easy to achieve

To use this feature simply click and drag the required icon (filter, paging or color) from one zone onto another to copy the selection

Copy Filters Multi Slides

Global filters or paging

In addition to applying filters and paging to individual zones of a multi slide it is also possible to apply filters and paging to the entire slide

Any filters that are applied to zones will apply as subset of the global slide filter

To apply global slide filter or paging

  1. Select the filter or paging button
  2. Select the required properties and buckets to filter on
  3. The applied filters will then be displayed on the slide

Hierarchy Switching

Each zone of a multi slide has the option to select the property used to define the hierarchy and therefore Parent By independently across multi slide zones

To change the property used to Parent By:

  1. Select the settings cog ⚙️ for the zone to expand the Parent By property selector
  2. Select the required property to define the hierarchy for the selected zone of the multi slide
  3. Repeat process if required for other zones

Multi Slide Panel Focusing

When amending the configuration on the Slide Tab in the Right-hand Panel for the different zones on a multi slide only the currently selected Zone configuration will be displayed.

Zones may be selected by either

  • A. Selecting the zone name on the canvas
  • B. Selecting the zone on the Slide Tab

As each zone is selected the previously selected zone will be closed on the Slide Tab

Duplicate Slides

Slides on Multi Slide zones may be duplicated from slides that exist either on slide navigation panel or from other zones by dragging and dropping onto the required zone

Rename Multi Slide Zones

Zones on a Multi Slide can be renamed by selecting the pencil icon and entering the new name
