Pre Selection

Pre selection applies to both Activity and Competency surveys

Pre selecting activities or competencies helps reduce the time taken to complete the survey by the participant as the activities or competencies to be measured are set via a target setting workflow

Activity Pre Selection

Activities to be measured are assigned via a completed Activity Target Setting Workflow

To use Activity Pre Selection the people dataset must contain a property roleID and the values in this property should match the Id property used in the roles dataset

A linked activities to roles dataset created by an Activity Target Setting workflow is also required to use activity pre-selection

When properly configured the select activities page within Customise will give three options

The selection options are:

  1. Self-select activities: Participants can select any activity from the activity dataset and allocate their time to these activities
  2. Self select and targeted activities: Participants must allocate time to the activities assigned to their role. They can also allocate time to any other activity that they select
  3. Targeted activities: Participants can only allocate time to the activities assigned to their role.

Competency Pre Selection

Competencies are assigned via a completed Competency Target Setting Workflow

To use Competency Pre Selection the people dataset must contain a property roleID and the values in this property should match the Id property used in the roles dataset

A linked Competencies to Roles dataset created by an Competency Target Setting workflow is also required to use Competency pre-selection

When properly configured the My Competencies page within Customise will give three options

The selection options are:

  1. Self select competencies: Participants can set a competency rating to any competency
  2. Self select competencies and targeted competencies: Participants must set a competency rating to the competencies assigned to their role. They can also set a competency rating to any other competency
  3. Targeted competencies: Participants can only set a competency rating to the competencies assigned to their role.
