People to Positions Survey Overview

How to use the survey

This guide is primarily based on the Desktop version with some notes on mobile version where it provides a different UI

Email Invite

When the survey is deployed in the Distribute step all selected participants will receive an email invite containing the survey link

Select the complete the survey button to launch the survey in either your desktop web browser or on a mobile device


Survey Completion

The Orgvue People to Positions Survey consists of 5 pages:

  1. Introduction: Read and understand the purpose of the survey and how to complete it
  2. Select Positions: Search, browse and select the positions that will be linked to People
  3. Select People: For each of the selected positions, select the people to link to these positions
  4. Allocate People to Positions: Select the FTE value and status of the allocation
  5. Review and submit: Review your answers and edit if you notice any mistakes

General navigation



  • A. Click the 'Continue' button at the bottom right to proceed to the next page and 'Back' at the bottom left to go to the previous page
  • B. Click the 'Save' button next to the Continue button to save the progress and come back later to continue
  • C. Use the tabs across the top to go to a specific page



  • A. Click the Begin button at the bottom right to proceed to the next page
  • B. Select the page name to open the dropdown menu at the top to go to a specific page, or use the left and right arrows to move between pages



On the first page, you can find the instructions and guidance for completing this survey

Note: If the survey is configured to include terms & conditions or a privacy notice, you should read the content and select Yes to proceed

Click the 'Begin' button to start answering questions

Select Positions

Select the positions that will have people linked to in the survey


  • A. The search may be used to find the required position
  • B. The Filter Positions List button will open the Filter Panel C
  • C. The Filter Positions panel allows properties and property buckets to be selected to filter the displayed positions by
  • D. Select a position by selecting the checkbox
  • E. Selected positions are confirmed on this panel

You can come back to this page at any point to unselect the selected positions or add a new position

Select People


Select the people on this screen that will be linked to each position from the Select Position screen by:

  1. Select position to link people to
  2. Select the people to link for selected position
  3. Selected people for each position will be shown on panel

Repeat steps 1-3 for each position previously selected

Allocate People to Positions

Select the status and FTE value on this screen for each person linked to each position


  1. Select Position
  2. Expand panel for selected person
  3. Enter FTE value to link the person to position
  4. Select the status for the link as defined on the Customise page
  5. Any additional comments may be entered here
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each addition person selected for the position
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 for each position

Review and submit

All of your responses are displayed on this page for review prior to submitting


Click the Submit button to submit the survey

Missing Inputs

An error message will appear at the top of this page if there are any missing inputs throughout the survey

This message will specify the pages that have missing responses


Note: the missing input flag (the orange dot) is also placed next to the page name on the page navigation menu

You can jump to a specific page using the navigation menu at the top to edit your responses and submit when ready


Once the submit is pressed the completed message is shown
